City Manager Recruitment <br />DATE: June 28, 1994 <br />The recruitment deadline for the City Manager will end June 30th, 1994, with approximately <br />50 resumes being received. The following steps for the remainder of the process are outlined <br />below for Council consideration. In addition, options to the suggested procedure are listed <br />for Council consideration. Because of the close future relationship between the Mayor, <br />Council, and Manager, it is critical at this point that the process be to everyone's satisfaction. <br />Staff will keep you apprised of the progress. <br />1. July 6-7 Preliminary screening of resumes by the Interim Personnel Director. All <br />resumes will be submitted to the secondary screening process with the <br />recommendation of the Interim Personnel Director's top group (15-20 <br />names). <br />2. July 11-13 Secondary screening of all resumes by the Interim City Manager, and <br />City Treasurer. A list of 8-12 top candidates will be developed. <br />3. July 18-21 Preliminary interviews for 8-12 candidates with Interim City Manager <br />and Gale Drews, Retired Electric Utility Director. <br />4. July 25-27 Reference checks and background investigation of top three applicants. <br />5. August 2 Interviews of top three candidates by City Council during an Executive <br />Session of a regularly scheduled Council Meeting. Decision made and <br />City's chief negotiator (Personnel Director) directed to extend offer of <br />employment. <br />.J. ,,, oto, a f <br />
