PERLICK <br />INTERIM PERSONNEL DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: RECRUITMENT FOR FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />BACKGROUND <br />Due to the resignation of the current Finance Director, staff is requesting Council authorization to fill the <br />position of Finance Director as soon as possible, in approximately mid-June, 1994. A current eligibility list <br />exists for this position, a review of which indicates that eight well-qualified candidates remain on the list, thus <br />another recruitment need not be conducted. Also, in the interest of time, another recruitment process is not <br />desirable, since the Finance Director is a key position, and must be filled as soon as possible. <br />Upon Council approval, staff will (1) review the applications of those persons on the current Finance Director <br />eligibility list; (2) re -interview the persons as needed, and (3) recommend employment to Council. <br />All persons on theeligibilitylist will be notified prior to any re -interviewing that the Finance Director position <br />is now an at -will position. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is staff's recommendation that Council approve the filling of the vacant position for Finance Director, so that <br />staff can begin the interview process as soon as possible. <br />Concur: <br />City Manager <br />MJP/kd <br />Item No. 3 <br />
