CITY OF COLTON <br />`��orPorte 'x <br />18 <br />AGENDA REPORT -» <br />1 f 0t. <br />For Council Meeting of JUNE 7, 1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: May 25, 1994 <br />FROM: JOHN HUTTON i' <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: VACATION OF NORTHWEST CORNER OF WASHINGTON STREET <br />(FORMALLY BARTON ROAD) <br />BACKGROUND <br />Centex Homes has requested the vacation of the portion of the northwest <br />corner of Hunts Lane and Barton Road (Washington Street) described in the <br />attached exhibit and legal description for development purposes. This <br />portion of right of way is no longer needed for road purposes due to the <br />realignment of this intersection. <br />The item was reviewed by the Planning Commission at their meeting of March <br />81 1994 and was recommended for vacation, subject to compliance with <br />conditions as set forth in the conditions of approval and the reservation by <br />the City of all utility easements. <br />On May 17, 1994 the Council declared its intention to vacate and set a Public <br />Hearing for June 71 1994 to hear any objections to the proposed vacation. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />If there are not sufficient objections at the Public Hearing, staff <br />recommends that the Council order this vacation and reserve for the City of <br />Colton all utility easements of record. <br />r <br />City Manager's Concurrence <br />Attachments: 6 <br />B:VACAGEN <br />Item No. 25 <br />
