CLOUD <br />Acting Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Wood Poles for the Electric Department to J. H. Baxter in the Amount of <br />$71672.12 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Wood poles are purchased into Electric Stores for use by the Electric Department on an "as required" basis. <br />The quantities are determined by history of past usage and requirements from the City's Electrical Engineer. <br />On May 12, 1994, General Services posted a "Notice Inviting Bids" for some of these requirements. Bid <br />opening was held at 4:00 p.m., May 23, 1994, in the General Services office. Three bids were received and <br />evaluated. A Bid Analysis is attached showing price and delivery terms for each vendor. The recommended <br />vendor's price is underlined. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />These items are budgeted in routine maintenance accounts for the Electric Department. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends bid award for these requirements to J.
