HUTTON <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR SELECTION OF CONTRACTOR FOR THE CDBG <br />PAVING PROJECTS -- OLIVE, BORDWELL MT. VERNON AND CANAL <br />ROAD. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This is a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funded Project <br />consisting of pavement rehabilitation of the streets inbounded by <br />Olive, Bordwell, Mt.Vernon and Canal Road. <br />On March 15, 1994 bids were formally opened by Staff. <br />Summary: <br />The results of the bids are as follows; <br />Contractor <br />Boral Resources <br />Silvia Construction <br />Matich Corp <br />Delgado and Sons <br />Al Chavez <br />E.L. Yeager of Riverside, California <br />in the amount of $163,901.00. <br />Our investigation indicated that the bidder is a reputable <br />contractor. The bid package has been reviewed by both San <br />Bernardino County Economic and Community Development Department <br />and City Staff for document compliance. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />A funding appropriation has been established in the amount of <br />$213,025.00 from the County of San Bernardino Department of <br />Economic and Community Development (ECD) for this Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project.
