AUTHORIZATION TO RECRUIT FOR PERMANENT CITY MANAGER <br />DATE: MAY 119 1994 <br />It is imperative that the City of Colton begin a recruitment for a permanent City Manager as <br />soon as possible. After discussion with staff, it was determined that in order to have a broad <br />and successful recruitment, it is recommended that Council: <br />1. Authorize the recruitment and hire of a permanent City Manager. <br />2. Advertisement for position with salary open and negotiable. <br />3. Fliers to be sent to cities, newspapers and special trade journals nationwide. <br />Staff does not plan to advertise in national magazines. <br />4. Recruitment to be open for approximately one month. <br />Subsequently, staff will return to Council with a request to review the requirements for the <br />successful candidate. <br />Thank you for your consideration of the above. <br />Wm.
