Z4 3 Agreement Colton Joint Unified School District and City of Colton City Manager Huffaker reported on the proposed Agreement between the Colton Joint Unified School District and the City of Colton regarding the community swimming pool, as outlined in his memorandum dated January 19, 1976. Mr. Huffaker recommended that no action be taken at this time, until the City hears from HUD in Washington. Councilman Gonzales pointed out various sections of the proposed agreement that he did not agree with, and reiterated his feelings that the pool should be located at Municipal Park instead of the High School. Mayor Huntoon felt the agreement was a good one, and could see no problems with it. Discussion followed between Council members and Staff regarding the swimming pool and the proposed agreement. Council took no further action. Personnel Rules & Regulations Holidays City Manager Huffaker requested that a public hearing be held at the next regular Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 1976, to amend that portion regarding Holidays. Mr. Huffaker stated that Staff is requesting that the Holiday for Lincoln's Birthday, which falls on a Thursday, February 12, be changed to Friday, February 13. Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to set for public hearing on Tuesday, February 3, 1976, amendment to Personnel Rules and Regulations with regard to Holidays. Vote was unanimous. CTTY ATMRNFY' S RFPORTS AND RFrnmMFNnATTnNS- Claims Southern California Gas Company vs. City of Colton Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to deny Claim of Southern California Gas Company versus the City of Colton and refer to our insurance carrier. Vote was unanimous. AFSCME vs. City of Colton City Attorney Edwards reported on the Notice of Motion for Writ of Mandate and Points and Authorities, and the Petition for Writ of Mandate and Damages, filed in Superior Court by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Local 122, against the City of Colton. City Attorney Edwards stated that no action is necessary at this time. EXECUTIVE SFSSION: The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:58 p. m., and reconvened at 9:28 p. m., all members present. Commission Appointments Mayor Huntoon appointed Mr. Carl Porter and re -appointed Mr. Ignacio Cabrera to the Recreation and Parks Commission; and re -appointed Mr. Manuel Delgado and Mr. Van Crouter to the Civil Service Commission. Mayor Huntoon's appointments were ratified by the Council members. ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:31 p. m., to meet for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Monday, February 2, 1976, at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers.
