Z4 3 <br />Agreement <br />Colton Joint Unified School District and City of Colton <br />City Manager Huffaker reported on the proposed Agreement between the Colton Joint Unified School District and the <br />City of Colton regarding the community swimming pool, as outlined in his memorandum dated January 19, 1976. <br />Mr. Huffaker recommended that no action be taken at this time, until the City hears from HUD in Washington. <br />Councilman Gonzales pointed out various sections of the proposed agreement that he did not agree with, and reiterated <br />his feelings that the pool should be located at Municipal Park instead of the High School. <br />Mayor Huntoon felt the agreement was a good one, and could see no problems with it. <br />Discussion followed between Council members and Staff regarding the swimming pool and the proposed agreement. <br />Council took no further action. <br />Personnel Rules & Regulations <br />Holidays <br />City Manager Huffaker requested that a public hearing be held at the next regular Council meeting scheduled for <br />Tuesday, February 3, 1976, to amend that portion regarding Holidays. <br />Mr. Huffaker stated that Staff is requesting that the Holiday for Lincoln's Birthday, which falls on a Thursday, <br />February 12, be changed to Friday, February 13. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to set for public hearing on Tuesday, February 3, 1976, <br />amendment to Personnel Rules and Regulations with regard to Holidays. Vote was unanimous. <br />CTTY ATMRNFY' S RFPORTS AND RFrnmMFNnATTnNS- <br />Claims <br />Southern California Gas Company vs. City of Colton <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, to deny Claim of Southern California Gas Company <br />versus the City of Colton and refer to our insurance carrier. Vote was unanimous. <br />AFSCME vs. City of Colton <br />City Attorney Edwards reported on the Notice of Motion for Writ of Mandate and Points and Authorities, and the <br />Petition for Writ of Mandate and Damages, filed in Superior Court by the American Federation of State, County and <br />Municipal Employees, Local 122, against the City of Colton. <br />City Attorney Edwards stated that no action is necessary at this time. <br />EXECUTIVE SFSSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:58 p. m., and reconvened at 9:28 p. m., all members present. <br />Commission Appointments <br />Mayor Huntoon appointed Mr. Carl Porter and re -appointed Mr. Ignacio Cabrera to the Recreation and Parks Commission; <br />and re -appointed Mr. Manuel Delgado and Mr. Van Crouter to the Civil Service Commission. <br />Mayor Huntoon's appointments were ratified by the Council members. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:31 p. m., to <br />meet for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Monday, February 2, 1976, at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers. <br />HELEN A.
