ADJOURNED CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 21, 1989 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the <br />above given date at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, <br />Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />RnT.T. CAT.T. <br />Council Members present were Rios, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Absent, Council Member Cisneros. Also present were City Manager Keane, <br />City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />BUDGET! <br />City Manager Keane reported tonight the Budgets for the Water Quality <br />Control, Water Utility, Sanitation and Capital Projects will be <br />presented. <br />N <br />WATER QUALITY CONTROL <br />LO City Manager Keane reported there are no new positions in the base <br />0 budget, however, Mr. Hutton has some items he wishes to address. <br />M Public Works Director Hutton reported there is a real need for a <br />Q Water Quality Specialist II in order to keep abreast of the State <br />Water Quality Control Board requirements. Mr. Hutton cited the <br />additional work due to population increase and new responsibility <br />for a full pretreatment program. <br />Public Works Director requested that the part time Intermediate Clerk <br />Typist be funded for full time. <br />City Manager Keane stated she was in concurrence with Mr. Hutton's <br />request. The sewer fund has sufficient funds to cover these additions. <br />Moved by Council Member Rios, seconded by Council Member Rehrer to <br />tentative approve the Water Quality Control Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />WATER <br />City Manager Keane reported two positions were requested in this <br />budget, her recommendation is for one. <br />Ms. Keane said two vehicles were requested and her recommendation <br />is for one and Mr. Hutton can designate which vehicle he would prefer. <br />Mr. Hutton requested that the Water Operator II be approved and <br />stated the water utility and the City have a need for a passanger van <br />with four wheel drive to do field site visits. <br />Mr. Hutton requested that the amount to pay the Electric Utility to <br />read the Water Meters be reinserted into this budget on Page 480. <br />City Manager Keane stated this would be done. <br />Moved by Council Member Rios, seconded by Council Member Rehrer to <br />tentatively approve the Water Utility Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />REFUSE <br />Mr. Hutton requested the addition of $10,000 for additional part time <br />salaries stating the new rate structure would support this. <br />Mr. Hutton said one refuse vehicle is scheduled to be replaced. <br />Mayor Gonzales recommended the City give the five year notice to <br />private haulers indicating termination of their franchise. <br />JUN 2 1 1989 <br />
