1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1437 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING <br />A FILING FEE FOR CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE <br />OFFICES OF SAID CITY. <br />WHEREAS, there are costs in processing a candidates <br />nomination paper for an elective office at municipal elections held in the City <br />of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 22843 of the Elections Code of the State <br />of California authorizes a City Council to impose a filing fee proportionate to <br />the costs of processing a candidate's nomination paper but not exceeding <br />$25.00: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton <br />DOES ORDAIN as follows: <br />SECTION 1. A filing fee of $25.00 is hereby established for <br />candidate's nomination papers for elective offices at municipal elections held <br />in the City of Colton. <br />SECTION 2. The filing fee shall be paid to the City Clerk by <br />each candidate for an elective office at the time the candidate's nomination <br />paper is filed with the City Clerk. <br />SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall pay to the City Treasurer <br />all fees received which shall be deposited in the General Fund. <br />SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of <br />this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the Colton Courier <br />within fifteen days after its passage and said ordinance shall become effective <br />thirty days after its final passage. <br />1973. <br />Introduced this 16th day of October 1973. <br />SIGNED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of November, <br />
