R-123-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA APPROVING AND ADOPTING, UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE POLITICAL REFORM ACT OF 1974, AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE BY AMENDING APENDICES "A" AND "B" OF THE RESOLUTION NO. R-18-88 AND BY REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. R-111-06. Whereas, the Legislature of the States of California has enacted the Political Reform Act of 1974, Government Code Section 81000 et seg. (the Act), which contains provisions related to conflicts of interest with potentially affect all officers, employees and consultants of the Conflict of Interest Code; and Whereas, the City Council for the City of Colton did adopt and promulgate a Conflict of Interest Code, approved by Resolutions Nos. 3619, 3623, 3619, R-18-88, R-122-92, R- 121-94, R-22-98, R-18-99, R-07-01, R-126-02 and R-146-04 with the most recent amendment to the Conflict of Interest Code adopted on August 1, 2006, in compliance with Government Code Section 81000 et seg.; and, Whereas, the City of Colton did incorporate Regulation 18730 within its Conflict of Interest Code by adopting Resolution No. R-1 8-99; and Whereas, subsequent amendments to and changes in the political Reform Act of 1974 and the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission, as well as changed circumstances within the City, have made it advisable and necessary pursuant to Sections 87306 and 87307 of the Act to amend and update the City's Conflict of Interest Code; and Whereas, the polential penalties for violation of the provisions of the Act are substantial and may include criminal and civil liability, as well as equitable relief; and, Whereas, the proposed amendment to the Conflict of Interest Code was provided to each designated employee; and I
