R-57-09 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />NAMING A BALL FIELD AT VETERAN'S PARK IN HONOR OF YGNACIO <br />CABRERA <br />WHEREAS, City Council Resolution R-108-03 sets forth policy for the application to <br />attach a name to City parks, park features, and community facilities, and the processing of <br />such applications, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City has received such an application, which has been processed in <br />accordance with Resolution R-108-03, and; <br />WHEREAS, this application calls for the naming of the largest of three (3) ball fields <br />to be constructed within Veteran's Park, in honor of Ygnacio "Nacho" Cabrera, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Colton Recreation & Parks Commission, in consideration of this <br />application at their meeting of June 17, 2009, voted 5-0 in favor of the recommendation as <br />called -for in this application, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has received this application, as well as the supporting <br />recommendation of the Recreation & Parks Commission. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Colton hereby declares that the largest <br />of three (3) ball fields to be constructed within Veteran's Park shall be named in honor of <br />former resident Ygnacio "Nacho" Cabrera. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of July, 2009. <br />ATTEST: <br />_mac <br />EILEEN C.
