R-90-09 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />FINDING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH RESOLUTION R-86-09 AND NAMING THE COLTON TEEN CENTER <br />IN HONOR OF RESIDENT ART THOMPSON <br />WHEREAS, the Colton City Council desires to honor long-time resident Art <br />Thompson for his many years of dedication, service, and generosity to the City of <br />Colton, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has set policy in accordance with Resolution R- <br />86-09, for the naming of City parks, park features, and community facilities, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has made an emergency finding, in compliance <br />with Resolution R-86-09, which authorizes the City Council to bypass the application <br />process in cases where time constraints present a hardship to the intent of the naming <br />process. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: The newly -completed Teen Center facility located in <br />Cesar Chavez Park shall henceforth be named the "Art Thompson Teen Center," in <br />honor of long-time resident Art Thompson. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November, 2009. <br />ATTEST: <br />EILEEN C.
