R-18-15 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO <br />AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2014/2015 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br />(CIP) BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE $693,000 FOR THE MT. VERNON AVE. <br />CORRIDOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPGRADE PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton desires to improve the traffic signal <br />infrastructure and circulation within the City jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton intends to improve the Mount Vernon Avenue Corridor <br />Traffic Signal Upgrade (PROJECT) in the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, the PROJECT received Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program <br />(HSIP) grant through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in the amount of <br />$693,000, thus providing an opportunity to complete the PROJECT at a relatively low cost to <br />the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is willing to participate in funding the required local <br />match (10%) for the PROJECT available in account number 218-1508-6150-3890 in the <br />amount of $77,000; and <br />WHEREAS, a budget appropriation for approved activities, not listed in the 2014-2015 <br />Fiscal Year budget is required and must be approved by resolution of the City Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1 The Recitals preceding in this Resolution are true and correct and are <br />incorporated into this Resolution by reference. <br />
