R-47-15 <br />2 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />3 COLTON, CALIFORNIA INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE <br />4 ANNUAL LEVY OF ASSESSMENTS FOR THE COLTON <br />LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT <br />5 DISTRICT NO.2 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015/2016. <br />6 <br />7 WHEREAS, the City of Colton ("City") is a municipal corporation duly organized and <br />8 existing pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California, and; <br />9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton, California has, by previous <br />10 <br />Resolutions, formed the Colton Landscape and Lighting Maintenance Assessment District No. <br />11 <br />12 2 ("District") pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, Part 2 of <br />13 Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of California, beginning with Section 22500 <br />14 ("Act"), that provides for levy and collection of assessments by the County of San Bernardino <br />15 for the City of Colton to pay the maintenance and services of street lighting, landscaping, and <br />16 <br />all appurtenant facilities and operations related thereto. <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO <br />20 HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />21 1. The description of the District boundary and the Zones therein are outlined in the <br />22 <br />Engineer's Report and by reference is made part of this Resolution. The District consists of <br />23 <br />24 two (2) Benefit Zones. The District is designated as "Colton Landscape and Lighting <br />25 Maintenance Assessment District No. 2." <br />26 2. The improvements within the District include but are not limited to: turf, ground cover, <br />27 shrubs, trees, irrigation systems, weed abatement, drainage systems, and associated <br />28 <br />appurtenances. The Engineer's Report describes all new improvements or substantial <br />
