R-65-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON APPROVING THE REQUEST TO ADD THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AS A MEMBER AGENCY AND CHANGING THE EXISTING NAME OF CONSOLIDATED FIRE AGENCIES OF THE EAST VALLEY TO THE CONSOLIDATED FIRE AGENCIES WHEREAS: the City of Colton is a member agency of the Consolidated Fire Agencies of the East Valley ("CONFIRE"), a joint powers agency comprised of the City of Loma Linda, City of Redlands, City of Colton, City of Rialto, and San Bernardino County Fire Protection District; and WHEREAS: the member agencies of CONFIRE seek to approve the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District as a new member of CONFIRE by way of written and executed Addendum to the existing CONFIRE Joint Powers Agreement ("Agreement") adopted in 1990; and WHEREAS: the member agencies of CONFIRE also seek to approve a requested name change from "Consolidated Fire Agencies of the East Valley" to "Consolidated Fire Agencies." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. The recitals set forth above are hereby adopted as findings in support of this Resolution. 2. The City Council of Colton hereby approves of the request by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District to become a full member of CONFIRE. 3. The City Council of Colton also approves the membership fee for Rancho Cucamonga in the amount of FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS SIX HUNDRED THIRTEEN DOLLARS ($420,613.00). 4. The City Council of Colton hereby approves and authorizes the Mayor to enter into a written amendment of the CONFIRE ("Addendum to the JPA") attached
