1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-48-11 <br />2 <br />3 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />SUPPORTING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR STATE <br />4 OF CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 1B FUNDS FISCAL YEAR <br />APPROPRIATION CYCLE 2009/2010. <br />5 <br />6 WHEREAS, Proposition 113, titled the "Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air <br />7 Quality, and Port Security Bond Act of 2006," was passed by the state's voters on November <br />8 7, 2006 and provides $19.925B in general obligation bonds that are available for transportation <br />improvement projects; <br />9 WHEREAS, the State of California, has the responsibility for the administration of the <br />10 program within the State, setting up necessary procedures governing project applications <br />11 under the program; and <br />12 WHEREAS, Cities and counties have three fiscal years from the date of allocation to <br />13 expend the funds, so all funds must be spent by June 30, 2014; <br />14 WHEREAS, the City of Colton seeks Proposition 1B funds for the Colton Crossing <br />15 Project to improve traffic flow, rail operations, decrease noise and air impacts, facilitate future <br />16 economic development and eliminate disruption to emergency vehicles; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO <br />17 HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />18 *Support the submittal for 2009/2010 Proposition 1B Funds for the Colton Crossing <br />19 Project in the amount of $770,000. <br />20 *Authorize the City Manager to sign any related grant documents. <br />21 PASSED, APPROVED AND nED THIS 7 JUNE 2011. <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 D ZAMO <br />R. <br />Mayor <br />25 ATTEST: <br />26 <br />27 <br />EILEEN C.
