FA <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-13-14 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 2.30 OF TITLE 2 OF <br />THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING QUALIFICATIONS <br />AND ELIGIBILITY FOR APPOINTMENT TO A COMMISSION OR <br />COMMITTEE AND THE TERMS OF COMMISSIONERS AND <br />COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2.30 of the Colton Municipal Code provides the rules <br />regarding the appointment, qualifications and seating of commission and committee members; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend the provisions relating to the <br />terms of individuals appointed to commissions or committees to clarify that the term is <br />concurrent and coterminous with the electoral term of the City Councilmember or Mayor who <br />appoints such individual to the Commission or Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend the provisions related to <br />eligibility to prohibit certain persons from being appointed to commissions or committees on <br />the basis of their status as an employee of the City, their relationship to the Mayor or current <br />City Council members, or their former position as a Mayor or City Council member. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: Section 2.30.060 of Chapter 2.30 of Title 2 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"2.30.060 4ualifications and eligibility for appointment to Commission or Committee. <br />A. Except as otherwise specified in this code, any Resident of the City may be <br />appointed to serve on any Commission or Committee, but no individual may serve <br />concurrently on more than one City Commission or Committee. <br />B. No former elected official of the City is eligible for appointment to any <br />Commission or Committee for two years following the expiration of the term of his or her <br />elected office. <br />Ordinance No. 0-13-14 - 1 - <br />
