CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF May 2, 2006 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members FROM: Bill Smith – Community Services Director SUBJECT: Approval of Use of Fleming Park on Saturday, June 10, 2006, for Use by the Community Services Department to Host a Teen "Battle of the Bands" Event DATE: April 24, 2006 BACKGROUND: The Community Services Department is requesting the use of Fleming Park to host a Teen "Battle of the Bands' Event on Saturday, June 10, 2006. The event is scheduled to proceed from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., including set-up and clean-up time. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: This exciting event will provide the opportunity for our community teens to showcase their talent at a musical band competition event. This event was held for the first time in 2005, and was a great success in the community. The program portion of this year's event will begin at 3:00 p.m., and end at 9:00 p.m. Attendance for the event is estimated at a maximum of 500 people, including adults and teens. A copy of the facility reservation application has been included, as well as promotional material for the event. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Event is budgeted from the general fund, account 100-6200-6214-2301. The total estimated cost for this event is $1500.
