Barrera, City Clerk CA(4 <br />SUBJECT: Calling and Giving Notice of a General Municipal Election to be Held, <br />Tuesday, November 7, 2000 and Requesting the County of San <br />Bernardino to Render Specified Services <br />DATE: June 12,2000 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Terms of Office for certain elected City Officials are nearing conclusion. <br />DISCUSSION/ANAILYSIS: <br />Under applicable State law, the City of Colton must take steps to call for the election of certain <br />officers of the City and to order a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 7, <br />2000, which will be consolidated with the Statewide General Election, to elect the following City <br />Officers: <br />I . City Clerk, at large, for full-term of four years; <br />2. City Treasurer, at large, for full-time of four years; <br />3. Three Councilmembers, by District, for full -terms of four years, for Districts 3, 5 <br />and 6. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Cost of the General Municipal Election is estimated at $10,000. This amount has been funded in <br />the City Clerk's Budget for Fiscal Year 2000-01. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />Staff recommends City Council approval of the attached resolution calling the election and <br />requesting that the County render specified services. <br />Art: (1) <br />Itan # 20 <br />
