COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 19, 1994 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was <br />held on the above given date at 6:32 P. M., in the Council Chambers <br />of the City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />INVOCATION• <br />Invocation was offered by Chaplain Bob Johnson. <br />ROLL CALL• <br />Councilmembers present were Bennett, Sandoval, Rios, Cisneros, <br />Cook, Beltran, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were Director Gale <br />Drews for City Manager Young, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk <br />Ramos. Mayor Gonzales announced that City Manager Young was absent <br />because he is ill and in the hospital. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Ms. Gwen Brown declared she had researched the 1991-92 budget where <br />she found that firefighters were to be certified after hours not <br />during work time. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />With Council approval the Minutes of the Regular Meeting, held <br />April 5, 1994, were continued to the next Council Meeting for <br />approval. <br />Councilmember Beltran raised concerns about warrants made payable <br />to Radisson Hotel for $600 and to the Latin Society Music for $300. <br />He asked if these were monies used to pay for the Mayor's Ball? <br />Special Events Coordinator Cecilia Hernandez replied that no money <br />was spent out of City funds for the Mayor's Ball. She said she had <br />a check for Jack's Disposal. Mayor Gonzales said that <br />approximately $14,000 were donated so there was no need to take <br />money from the City. <br />It was discovered that the sum of $600 was paid to Radisson for an <br />upcoming retirement party and that the sum of $300 was paid to the <br />Latin Society for the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. <br />Councilmember Beltran continued to inquire about warrants totaling <br />more than $14,000 - $15,000 for vehicle repairs.
