CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 20, 1996 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was <br />held on the 'above given date at 6:4`1 P. M., in the Council Chambers <br />Of City Hall, Mayor Fulp presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Fulp led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION• <br />Chaplain Bob Johnson offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Councilmembers present were Hutton, Bennett, Cook, Sanders, Beltran <br />and Mayor Fulp. Also present were City Manager Martinez, City <br />Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Freeman. Councilmember Sandoval was <br />absent. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />With approval from Council, Mayor Fulp advanced Item No. 30 for <br />Council action. <br />Motion by Mayor Fulp, seconded by Councilmember Bennett, to accept <br />and adopt Resolution No. R-17-96. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO., R-17-96 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE <br />FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />HELD ON FEBRUARY 6, 1996, DECLARING THE <br />RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED <br />BY LAA. <br />Dr. Floyd D. Hansen was duly sworn -in, by City Clerk Malik Dantala <br />Freeman, as Councilmember of District 6 and he assumed his place on <br />the dias. Upon the Mayor's invitation, Councilmember Hansen <br />expressed appreciation to the electorate. <br />Presentations Awards Proclamations <br />Councilmember Sanders read the proclamation signed by the Mayor and <br />City Council which declared the Month of February as African <br />American History Month. Councilmember Sanders cited California <br />Education Code Section 37221(d) which established March 5th as <br />Black American„Day commemorating the anniversary of the death of <br />Crispus Attucks, the First African American martyr of the Boston <br />Massacre. <br />� err-- .. ;.. �..-r---"--rr—.._--r . <br />
