R-110-91 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF <br />COLTON REVOKING THE ISSUANCE OF ADVERTISING <br />SIGN VARIANCES TO ADAMS ADVERTISING, INC. <br />WHEREAS, on April 9, 1991 the Planning Commission (the "Commission') of <br />the City of Colton issued variances (the "Variances') and conditional use permits to Adams <br />Advertising, Inc. ('Adams') for the placement of freeway -oriented signs at ten sites within the <br />City (Colton File Index Number DCV -7-91); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the Planning Commission to consider <br />revocation of the Variances based on the fact that the Variances 1) cannot be exercised in a <br />manner consistent with law and 2) when exercised constitute a nuisance; <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission on October 24, 1991 held, pursuant to <br />Section 18.32.020(E) of the Colton Municipal Code, a noticed public hearing at which it has <br />considered the revocation of the Variances, and voted not to revoke the Variances; and <br />WHEREAS, two members of the City Council have requested that the Planning <br />Commission's decision be appealed to the City Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Colton as follows: <br />- 1 - <br />
