1 RESOLUTION NO. 2545 <br /> 2 RESOLUTION OF DECLARING THE INTENTION OF <br /> THE CITY OF COLTON TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN <br /> 3 MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN <br /> UNINHABITED TERRITORY. <br /> 4 <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON: <br /> 5 <br /> 1. That the Council of the City of Colton, for the reasons hereinafter <br /> 6 <br /> mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally <br /> 7 <br /> do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Colton, all of the territory herein- <br /> 8 <br /> after described, as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Annexation <br /> 9 <br /> of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325, <br /> 10 <br /> inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California. <br /> 11 <br /> 2. That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate said annexation <br /> 12 <br /> proceedings are as follows: The annexation of the hereinafter described <br /> 13 <br /> territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, provide the proper <br /> 14 <br /> control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the <br /> 15 <br /> proper use of land in conformity with the overall zoning plan of the city. <br /> 16 <br /> 3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex is hereby <br /> 17 <br /> identified as "South Colton Annexation No. 14" and consists of all that real <br /> 18 <br /> property situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, <br /> 19 <br /> described as follows: <br /> 20 <br /> That portion of Section 88, Rancho San Bernardino as recorded <br /> 21 in Book 7 of Maps, Page 2; and those portions of Sections 31 and <br /> 32, Jurupa Rancho, as recorded in Book 1, Page 47, records of <br /> 22 San Bernardino County, State of California and more particularly <br /> described as follows: <br /> 23 <br /> Beginning at the intersection of the north line of Lot 1, Rosedale <br /> 24 Tract, as recorded in Book 12 of Maps, Page 41, and the west <br /> right of way line of State Highway No. 43, said point being on the <br /> 25 corporate boundary of the City of Colton; then ce westerly along <br /> the north boundary of said Rosedale Tract, following all its <br /> 26 various courses and distances to the most southerly corner of <br /> Lot 7 of said Rosedale Tract; thence north 13° east along the <br /> 27 east line of said Lot 7 a distance of 83. 2 .feet; thence south 89° <br /> 12' west a distance of 323.29 feet to the east line of Bostick Avenue; <br /> 28 thence northerly along the east line of said Bostick Avenue to <br /> the northwest boundary of Lot 6 of said Rosedale Tract; thence <br /> 29 northeasterly along the northwest boundary of said Lot 6 to an <br /> intersection with the southwest corner of Lot 7 of said Rose- <br /> 30 dale Tract; thence northeasterly along the west boundary of <br /> said Lot 7 to the northwest corner of said Lot 7; thence easterly <br /> 31 along the northerly boundary of said Lot 7 to the most north- <br /> easterly corner of said Lot 7; thence easterly to a point in the <br /> 32 west line of said Rancho San Bernardino, said point being <br />
