1 RESOLUTION NO. 2545 2 RESOLUTION OF DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN 3 MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON: 5 1. That the Council of the City of Colton, for the reasons hereinafter 6 mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally 7 do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Colton, all of the territory herein- 8 after described, as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Annexation 9 of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325, 10 inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California. 11 2. That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate said annexation 12 proceedings are as follows: The annexation of the hereinafter described 13 territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, provide the proper 14 control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the 15 proper use of land in conformity with the overall zoning plan of the city. 16 3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex is hereby 17 identified as "South Colton Annexation No. 14" and consists of all that real 18 property situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, 19 described as follows: 20 That portion of Section 88, Rancho San Bernardino as recorded 21 in Book 7 of Maps, Page 2; and those portions of Sections 31 and 32, Jurupa Rancho, as recorded in Book 1, Page 47, records of 22 San Bernardino County, State of California and more particularly described as follows: 23 Beginning at the intersection of the north line of Lot 1, Rosedale 24 Tract, as recorded in Book 12 of Maps, Page 41, and the west right of way line of State Highway No. 43, said point being on the 25 corporate boundary of the City of Colton; then ce westerly along the north boundary of said Rosedale Tract, following all its 26 various courses and distances to the most southerly corner of Lot 7 of said Rosedale Tract; thence north 13° east along the 27 east line of said Lot 7 a distance of 83. 2 .feet; thence south 89° 12' west a distance of 323.29 feet to the east line of Bostick Avenue; 28 thence northerly along the east line of said Bostick Avenue to the northwest boundary of Lot 6 of said Rosedale Tract; thence 29 northeasterly along the northwest boundary of said Lot 6 to an intersection with the southwest corner of Lot 7 of said Rose- 30 dale Tract; thence northeasterly along the west boundary of said Lot 7 to the northwest corner of said Lot 7; thence easterly 31 along the northerly boundary of said Lot 7 to the most north- easterly corner of said Lot 7; thence easterly to a point in the 32 west line of said Rancho San Bernardino, said point being
