CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 07, 2006 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and Council Members <br />FROM: Jeannette Olko, Electric Utility General Manager <br />SUBJECT: Approve request for recruitment and ratification of employee <br />appointment to the full-time position of Sr. Consumer Service Field <br />Representative in the Electric Department <br />DATE: January 26, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On January 17, 2006, the City Council approved Resolution No. R-07-06, which adopted the <br />Consolidated Memorandum of Understanding for the IBEW representing the Electrical Unit. As <br />part of the negotiations of the Memorandum of Understanding, the IBEW and the City agreed to <br />merge the Meter Reader classification and the Consumer Service Field Representative <br />classification into one group to allow for more efficient management of staff and workloads. In <br />addition, it was agreed to recruit for a Sr. Consumer Service Field Representative, an existing job <br />classification, whose primary function would be to provide lead person supervision of daily <br />activities. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The recruitment for the Sr. Consumer Service Field Representative will be a closed/promotional <br />recruitment. It is anticipated that this position will be filled within six weeks. The salary range for <br />the Sr. Consumer Service Field Representative is $4,025 to $4,893 per month. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There are currently funds available in account number 520-8000-8003-1010-0580-000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements <br />None. <br />Staff recommends that the Council approve the request for Recruitment and Ratification of <br />Employee Appointment to Sr. Consumer Service Field Representative. <br />Attachment: <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: Finance Director: <br />City Manager: OTHER: ±irtivfy�O <br />
