ITEM #12 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF August 15, 2006 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER SUBJECT: APPROVE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE CITY HALL REMODELLING PHASE II PROJECT. DATE: August 3, 2006 BACKGROUND: The City Hall Remodeling Project- Phase H was funded and added to the City's Capital Improvement Program in September 2004. The completed scope of work provides Police personnel a new mini -gym and locker area. The project construction started in early July of 2005. Demolition, plumbing, electric lighting installation and other various small-scale non -specialty jobs were completed by employees from various city departments. Other trade work was contracted out such as: wall/ceiling framing, drywall, T -bar ceiling, ceramic tiling, air conditioning, and masonry. Kwang Cook and Associates provided the architectural and structural design for this project. Contractors hired to complete parts of the construction phase include: Inland Empire Construction, Best Custom Garage Coating, A-1 Budget Glass, CHI Inc., Wildan Associates, Ceramic Tile Works and Design, Kretschmer & Smith Inc., Padress Air and Radix Fire Construction Inc. ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: The Building and Safety Division performed the building inspection. An inspector from Wildan & Associates, Inc. was hired to complete a final inspection and the project was formally signed off for completion in June. Minor touch-up work has been addressed in the past month and the project is now ready to be signed off; the gym is now being utilized by the Police Department. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The proposed public improvements are Exempt under Section 15301 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
