CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF June 1% ZUU1 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Bill Smith — Community Services Director <br />SUBJECT: Request Approval for Employee Recruitment and Ratification of <br />Appointment to the Position of Site Supervisor in the Childcare <br />Division of the Community Services Department <br />DATE: June 6, 2007 <br />ITEM #11 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Community Services Department is requesting to recruit and appoint a Site Supervisor in the <br />Childcare Division. This request is due to the recent resignation of one of the incumbents in this <br />position. The Childcare Division currently has five (5) budgeted Site Supervisor positions who <br />oversee programs at five (5) childcare sites. The current salary range is $2,988 to $3,361. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />This position is responsible for the day-to-day programming at each of the City's childcare sites. It <br />is a specialized position with specific job requirements, as mandated by the State of California. It <br />is essential to fill this position, according to the requirements of the State childcare grants which <br />fund the program. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There is no impact to the General Fund as a result of this appointment. There is no net impact to <br />the Childcare Fund, as the position is budgeted in the Community Services Department for the <br />current fiscal year, and is accounted -for in the 206-7200-7203 expenditure account group. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the request for employee recruitment and ratification <br />of an employee appointment to the position of Site Supervisor in the Childcare Division of the <br />Community Services Department. <br />REVIEW TEAII NLY <br />0ACity Attorney: Finance Director: <br />City Manager: HR Director: <br />
