1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ITEM #5 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-02-08 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON TO AMEND TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.50 OF THE <br />COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO SIGNS <br />WHEREAS, on February 26, 2008 the Planning Commission of the City of Colton <br />("Planning Commission") conducted a duly noticed public hearing and recommended the City <br />Council of the City of Colton ("City Council") amend Chapter 18.50 of Title 18 of the Colton <br />Municipal Code to clarify and update existing code sections related to signs ("Sign Ordinance"); <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission based its recommendation to adopt the Sign <br />Ordinance on the findings set forth below and a finding that adoption of the Sign Ordinance is exempt <br />from compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 18, 2008, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing <br />at which all persons wishing to testify in connection with the Sign Ordinance were heard and the Sign <br />Ordinance was comprehensively reviewed; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to clarify and update existing code sections <br />related to signs to make these sections consistent with the goals of the City related to signs, State law, <br />and the City of Colton General Plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council hereby adopts the recitals and findings set forth above <br />and in the agenda report prepared in connection with this Sign Ordinance. <br />SECTION 2.
