ITEM #8 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 19, 2009 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: MARITZA TAPIA, INTERIM PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE RECORDATION AND FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE CITY WIDE STRIPING PROJECT. DATE: MAY 11, 2009 BACKGROUND: On December 12, 2008, the Public Works Department staff solicited bids for the City Wide Striping Project. Public Works staff identified the following streets for this project: 1. Rancho Ave from Louise Street to Olive Street 2. Rancho Ave from Valley Blvd to La Cadena Dr 3. La Cadena Dr from Citrus St to I-10 4. La Cadena Dr from I-10 to I-91 5. Valley Blvd from City limit to RR track 6. Mt. Vernon Ave from Valley Blvd to Olive PI 7. Washington St from 1-215 ramp to Cooley Dr 8. Barton Rd from Cooley Dr to Waterman Ave 9. Reche Canyon from Barton Rd to South City Limits The project scope included installation of the following traffic legends: broken white line, broken white line 45 mph or more, double solid yellow line, two way left turn at centerline, single yellow line, edge solid white line, channeling solid white line on left turns, 6" bike lane white, bike lane intersection line, crosswalk with two line perpendicular to the traffic flow, crosswalk with white longitudinal lines parallel to traffic flow, diagonal and chevron markings, white stop lines, white arrow, left turn arrow, left turn arrow, right turn arrow, turn arrow and through lane arrow, signal ahead, stop sign, speed limit, RR crossing, and bike lane legends. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: On February 03, 2009, the City Council authorized the award of a construction agreement for the City Wide Striping Project to Chrisp Company, in the amount of $75,000.00. A Notice to Proceed for this project was issued on April 01, 2009 and the project was completed as of May 04, 2009.
