SECOND READING AND ADOPTION <br />Ord No. 0-07-09 Date 01119110 Item No. 0 3 <br />STAFF REPORT <br />ITEM NO. % <br />DATE: DECEMBER 15, 2009 <br />TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: ROD FOSTER, CITY MANAGER <br />PREPARED BY: CANDACE CASSEL, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT TO AMEND VARIOUS <br />PROVISIONS OF TITLE 18 OF THE CITY OF COLTON MUNICIPAL <br />CODE TO REQUIRE A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR USES <br />ASSOCIATED WITH AUTOMOBILE, MOTORCYCLE AND TRUCK <br />PARKING, REPAIR, SALES AND RENTALS IN VARIOUS ZONES <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve a Zone Text Amendment to amend various <br />provisions of Title 18 of the City of Colton Municipal Code to require a conditional use permit <br />for uses associated with automobile, motorcycle and truck parking, repair, sales and rentals in <br />various Zones within the City of Colton. <br />GOAL STATEMENT <br />The proposed action will support the City's goal to stem the overconcentration of automobile, <br />motorcycle and truck parking, repair, sales and rental uses in various areas of the city by <br />providing a greater level of review and conditioning of all proposed project locations. <br />BACKGROUND <br />This amendment would require a conditional use permit for uses associated with automobile, <br />motorcycle and truck parking, repair, sales and rentals in various Zones within the City of <br />Colton. The Development Services Department initiated a zone text amendment for various <br />sections of Title 18 of the City of Colton Municipal Code (the "Code"). During their meeting on <br />November 10, 2009, the Planning Commission found the proposed Zone Text Amendment to be <br />
