STAFF REPORT <br />ITEM NO. <br />DATE: JANUARY 19, 2010 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND Cl" C <br />FROM: ROD FOSTER, CITY MANAGER <br />PREPARED BY: ADELFA FLORES, EXECUTIVE ASST/CO O FICE <br />MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: MAYOR PRO TEMPORE APPOINTMENT 2010 <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />It is recommended that the City Council appoint a member of the City Council to serve as Mayor <br />Pro Tempore for a one year term, commencing January 2010 and ending January 2011. <br />GOAL STATEMENT <br />The proposed action is in support of City Ordinance 0-07-02, Ordinance 0-1-99, and the <br />applicable sections of the Colton Municipal Code are included in this report. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Since January 2003, the Colton City Council has procedurally appointed one of their Council <br />colleagues to serve a one year term as Mayor Pro Tempore. This appointment is routinely done <br />at the first meeting in January.
