ACEVEDO, Finance Director Date; March 31, 1993 SUBJECT: Award of Bid for New Air Conditioningfor the Electric Department Administration Building to Scott Logan Heating & Air Conditioning in the Amount of $17,092.00; Request Approval to Transfer $12,000 within the Electric Utility Fund BACKGROUND The Electric Department has a requirement to replace the existing heating and air conditioning units currently located on the roof of the building. It is the intent of the Electric Department to replace these units with ones that are located on the ground. The roof has numerous leaks and is in need of replacement. This is a metal building and the type of roofing system used on these build- ings does not hold up well under foot traffic which occurs with maintenance of the roof mounted units. On March 15 and 22, 1993, General Services advertised for sealed bids for this requirement. DISCUSSION Bid opening was held on March 29, 1993, in the General Services office. Three bids were received and the prices quoted are shown on the attached Bid Analysis. The recommended bidder's quote is underlined. There is $5,092.00 available in the building and grounds capital improvement account and the Electric Department is requesting that the additional funds be transferred from the transmission lines capital improvement account. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends bid award be made to Scott Logan Heating & Air Conditioning in the amount of $17,092.00 and that $12,000.00 be transferred from transmission lines capital improvement account to the building and grounds capital improvement account.
