CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting April 20, 1993
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY OUNCIL
FROM: WILLIAM M. GLICKMAN, Date: April 13, 1993
INTERIM PUBLIC WORKSTOR/CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: AMENDMENT OF R-60-86, NO PARKING OVER 9000 LBS
BACKGROUND
This is in response to a citizen complaint of trucks parking along
Santo Antonio Drive, between Washington and the Easterly terminus
causing a Safety Hazard by limiting the sight distance.
DISCUSSION:
This was reviewed by the Traffic Committee and the recommendation
was to create a situation that allowed parking of Tractor rigs
without the trailer attached. This will create a safer driving
environment.
The existing Resolution (R-60-86) restricts the parking of
commercial vehicles in excess of 2 tons along Santo Antonio Drive
South of Washington Street. This portion of Santo Antonio Drive
has since has been renamed R.V. Expo Drive.
This amendment will:
1) Modify the weight limit from 4000 pounds to 9000 pounds.
2) Update the existing parking restrictions to reflect the
change of street name.
3) Extend this restriction to the remaining length of Santo
Antonio Dr.
ALTERNATIVES:
Parking restriction to remain as is.
64;V fflAw..57
