Freeman, City Manager <br />From: Randy Anstine, Neighborhood Services Director <br />Subject: Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Part -Time <br />Position of Recreation Leader in the Neighborhood <br />Services Department <br />Date: April 2, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There presently exists five (5) vacant part-time Recreation Leader I positions in the <br />Neighborhood Services Department. Attached is the job description for the classification; <br />the salary range is $4.75 per hour. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said position is on going. Oral examinations were held and an eligibility <br />list established. The candidates being referred for Council ratification meet the <br />education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FUNDING AVAILABILITY: <br />This is a general fund position(s). The position(s) is funded for the 1996-97 fiscal year <br />as follows: Account-Ne),',A&440-6202-10.10 <br />Randy Anstin r, Director <br />MISSION CRITICAL: These positions are needed to oversee a variety of recreational <br />opportunities for the youth of Colton. Individuals are directly responsible for supervising <br />the drop-in recreation programs; special events; organized tournaments; spring break <br />activities; summer playground programs, ensure safety rules are followed, and provide <br />suitable leisure programs for the community. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the City Council ratify the employee appointment(s) to the part-time position(s) of <br />Recreation Leader as recommended by the Neighborhood Se <br />Attachment: Job Descriptions <br />Page 1 of 1 Item NO. 12 <br />
