L
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For City Council Meeting of DECEMBER 16, 1997
TO: IIONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL: Len Wood, Interim City Manager
FROM: Dennis Morris, Interim Personnel Director
SUBJECT: Administrative Leave Modification for the Executive Unit.
DATE: December 2, 1997
BACKGROUND_ Currently Resolution R-84-93 Section XXIII states:
"Each Executive employee shall receive 104 hours annual administrative leave per
calendar year. An employee may not carry over unused leave from year to year."
The Executive Unit submitted compensation requests to the City Manager, one of which dealt
with Administrative Leave.
DISCUSSION/ANA.LYSIS: Representatives of the Executive Unit have reached an agreement
with the City on various compensation issues. One of the requests that the Executive Unit asked
for was an annual payoff of Administrative Leave (not to exceed 40 hours) if it was not used
during the year.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The payoff is difficult to estimate since it is difficult to estimate how
many Executive Unit employees will opt for the "cash out". In any case the cost should be
negligible.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that City Council adopt a resolution amending
Section XXIII of :Resolution R-84-93, which provides for a payoff of up to 40 hours per year
on unused Administrative Leave, effective January 1, 1998.
Administrative Leave Modification
