CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 21, 1998 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />APPROVAL: H7pjarcia, City anage�*k <br />FROM: <br />Community Ddvelopmght Director <br />I SUBJECT: Demolition of Citrus Pulp Building, 316 West "D" Street <br />DATE: April 14, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As Council may recall, on March 29, 1998, the building located at 316 West "D" Street, <br />commonly referred to as the Citrus Pulp building, suffered severe structural damage due to <br />fire. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Because of the building's present unsafe and dangerous condition, staff is requesting that <br />Council find that it would be impracticable to comply with the bidding process, as outlined in <br />Section 3.08.060 of the Colton Municipal Code, and instead authorize the City Manager to <br />execute the attached contract, as an exception to the formal contract procedures as outlined <br />in Section 3.08.120. Attached are copies of the Request for Quotations for the demolition of <br />the structure in question, and the responses. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Of the two responses to the Request for Quotations, the lowest quote is $54,000.
