CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
Council Meeting of August 4, 1998
TO: Honorable Mayor and Counciemb rs
APPROVAL: Henry T. Garcia, City Manager
FROM: Daryl J. Parrish, Assistant City anager rp
SUBJECT: Set for Public Hearing for the Meeting of August 18, 1998,
for the Closure of Cantera Street at San Bernardino Avenue
DATE: July 30, 1998
BACKGROUND:
Recently concerns have been brought to our attention regarding numerous vehicles
and pedestrian traffic having access to the Cantera Street residential area once the
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center becomes operational.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Based on the legal opinion received June 15, 1998, Cantera Street may be blocked at
San Bernardino Avenue, providing that by doing so, the circulation element of the
general plan is implemented. Based on a brief analysis performed by the City
Engineer, the implementation of the circulation element will be accomplished when this
occurs, as the number of turning movements on San Bernardino would be effectively
reduced.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact at the present time.
RECOMMENDATION:
Set the Public Hearing for the closure of Cantera Street for August 18, 1998.
Attachments
Item # 15
