CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR'"k�� <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A CHANGE ORDER #2 TO THE KRIEGER AND <br />STEWART CONSULTING ENGINEER CONTRACT FOR ADDITIONAL <br />WORK REQUIRED ON THE WATER MASTER PLAN <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 18, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On March 5, 1996 Council approved Krieger and Stewart to prepare the City's five year <br />Water Master Plan and Urban Water Management Plan updates. The Water Master <br />Plan update has been completed, and Council accepted it at the September 15, 1998. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />However, due to the additions and changes requested by the State Department of <br />Health Services and by staff; the cost to complete the Water Master Plan, and the not - <br />yet completed Urban Water Management Plan exceeded the contract amount. A <br />change order in the amount of $19,087 will pay for the additional costs incurred to date, <br />and the cost to complete the Urban Water Management Plan. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Sufficient funds in the Water Professional Services account no. 521-8100-8101-2350 is <br />available to pay for the services of Krieger and Stewart. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the change order in the amount of $19,087 to <br />pay for the completion of the Water Master Plan and Urban Water Management Plan <br />updates. <br />Report Prepared By: Lorraine June <br />Item No. 13 <br />
