VERNON AVE, NEAR LAUREL <br />DELEGATING <br />AUTHORITY TO THE UTILITY DIRECTOR TO DECLARE THAT AN EMERGENCY <br />REPAIR SEWER MAIN LEAKAGE, ORDER ACTIONS REQUIRE EQUIRED TO <br />DATE: MAY 27, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The sewer main in Mt, Vernon Ave. at Laurel St. is leaking and c <br />needs to make immediate repairs to this sewer main in order to prevent a <br />the street. causing the street to erode. The City. <br />health hazard. and erosion of <br />Section 22050 of the Public Contract Code allows the City Council to <br />vote of its membership declaring that an emergency condition exists and delegating <br />actions required by that emergency Pass a resolution h ity to fifths <br />r9 cy without giving notice for bids to let contracts g authority to older <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The Wastewater Superintendent has obtained one quotation and is expecting <br />quotation on Thursday, May 28.; The quotation the City has received from Sto receive another <br />approximately $16,950. The contract would include installing a liner i <br />from S ximat engineering s <br />Pipe, and would be completed with no excavations and minimal impact to the immediate <br />quotation will be received from Insituform. ° approximately 442 ft. of sewer <br />area..
