CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of June 16,1998 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and Councilmem�ber <br />FROM: Carolina P. Barrera, City Clerk V <br />SUBJECT: Calling and Giving Notice of a General Municipal Election to be Held, <br />Tuesday, November 3, 1998 and Requesting the County of San <br />Bernardino to Render Specified Services. <br />DATE: June 9, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: Terms of office for certain elected City Officials are nearing conclusion. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Under applicable State Law, the City of Colton must take steps to <br />call for the election of certain officers of the City and to order a General Municipal Election to be <br />held on Tuesday, November 3, 1998, which will be consolidated with the November General <br />Election, to elect the following City Officials: <br />1. Mayor to be elected at large for a full term of four years. <br />2. Three Councilmembers, by District, for full terms of four years, for Districts 1, 2, <br />and 4. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Cost of the General Municipal Election is estimated at $20,000. Pending <br />approval this amount will be funded in the City Clerk's Budget for fiscal year 98-99 and budgeted <br />as follows: Account No. 100-6010-6010-2401. The remaining $5,000 in the City Clerk Election <br />Account is the estimated additional cost should a recall measure be realized and consolidated with <br />the General Municipal Election. <br />Carolina P.
