CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For the Council Meeting of March 3, 1998
To: Honorable Mayor & City Council
Approval: Henry Garcia, City Ma er
From: Randy Anstine, Neighborhood Services Directo6
Subject: Use of Fleming Park - Colton Calvary Chapel
Date: February 24, 1998
BACKGROUND:
Pastor Frank Hernandez of the Colton Calvary Chapel, has requested the use of Fleming
Park on April 12, 1998, for Easter Sunrise Service. Though the City Council for the past
several years has allowed religious institutions to utilize Fleming Park for Easter Sunrise
Services, it is important to point out that with recent changes in the law, by allowing this
use of the park, the City will also have to consider approving the use of the park by other
religious organizations for similar activities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. There is no anticipated costs associated with this use. The only use of personnel
associated with this use, would be the cleaning of the Park. The maintenance of the Park
should be done on a regular basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council approve the request of Pastor Frank Hernandez and the
Colton Calvary Chapel Church for use of Fleming Park on April 12, 1998.
ITEM #13
