CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR`—(�� <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF EL -CO CONTRACTORS TO PERFORM EMERGENCY <br />SEWER LINE REPAIRS AT LA CADENA AND MT. VERNON IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $18,103.60 <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 24, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On January 23, 1998 the sewer line at La Cadena and Mt. Vernon failed and required <br />immediate repairs. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />EI -Co Contractors quoted the cost of the repairs at $21,105. Due to the potential <br />sewage spill, the City Manager authorized the repairs to be made. The actual cost of <br />the repairs was $18,103.60. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The Wastewater Budget has sufficient funds in the sewer line repair account #552- <br />8200-8206-3890 to pay for the emergency repair. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve EL -Co Contractors to perform emergency <br />sewer line repairs at La Cadena and Mt.
