HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICAITON OF EMPLOYEE <br />APPOINTMENT IN THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF MAINTENANCE <br />WORKER I IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: JULY 20,1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />'Mere is one (1) Maintenance Worker I position that is currently vacant. Attached is the job description <br />for the classification. The salary range is $1,788 - $2,174 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Maintenance Worker I position is a new position approved by Council. This employee will be <br />responsible for picking up shopping carts, filling potholes, picking up debris from streets and gutters and <br />will also perform other Maintenance Worker I duties. <br />Currently, there is an eligibility list and the candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />In fiscal year 1999-2000 budget, funding availability for this approved general fund position is as follows: <br />Account No. 100-6150-6160-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6150-6160-1100 (salary related <br />benefits). <br />""6" <br />hn . utton, Public Works Director <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to <br />the full-time position of Maintenance Worker I in the Public Works Department. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Item #7 <br />MW191QQAC�FNDARFP0RT <br />
