CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For the Council Meeting of June 15,1999 <br />To: Honorable Mayor & Council Members <br />Approval: Henry Garcia, City Manager tr <br />From: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director �� �)�. <br />Subject: Request For On -Going Recruitment And Ratification Of Employee <br />Appointment To The Part -Time Positions Of; Lifeguard, Senior <br />Lifeguard, Facility Monitor, And Recreation Leader In The <br />Neighborhood Services Division For Fiscal Years 99/01. <br />Date: Junel,1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There are eight (8) vacant part-time seasonal Lifeguard positions, and four (4) vacant <br />part-time seasonal Senior Lifeguard positions in the Neighborhood Services Division. <br />Attached are the job descriptions for the classifications and the salary is based on an <br />hourly rate of $6.25 for Lifeguard, and $10.00 for Senior Lifeguard. <br />There are ten (10) vacant part-time Facility Monitor positions in Neighborhood Services <br />Division. Attached is the job description for the classification, and the salary is based on <br />an hourly rate of $5.50. <br />There are twelve (12) vacant part-time Recreation Leader positions in the Neighborhood <br />Services Division. Attached is the job description for the classification and the salary is <br />based on an hourly rate of $5.15. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said positions is classified as "on-going." Recruitment's are conducted <br />and eligibility lists established as needed throughout the year. The rate of employee <br />turnover is higher then those of full-time positions. The candidates chosen will meet the <br />education and experience requirements as specified in the job descriptions. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funding availability for these approved positions in the fiscal years 1999-2001 budget <br />funded as follows: <br />Facility Monitors & Recreation Leaders - Account No. 100-6200-6202-1040 <br />Lifeguards & Senior Lifeguards — Account No. 100-6200-6204-1040. <br />item # 10 <br />AgdW�NSW-ti� <br />
