Parrish, Assistant City Manager Approve Notice of Completion for Street, Storm Drain, Intersection, and Landscaping Improvements Surrounding the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (Aman Environmental Construction) March 9, 1999 BACKGROUND: On May 2, 1995, the City of Colton approved the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") between the County of San Bernardino and the City of Colton for the construction of Traffic Mitigation and Infrastructure Improvements. The MOU specifically provided for the construction of the improvements generally described as: (1) the widening and resurfacing of Pepper Avenue from just north of Valley Boulevard to San Bernardino Avenue (2) the widening and resurfacing of Meridian Avenue from just north of Valley Boulevard to San Bernardino Avenue (3) the widening of San Bernardino Avenue from Meridian Avenue west to Pepper Avenue (4) the installation of new traffic signals along Pepper Avenue and at Rancho and Olive Avenues and (5) the installation of a one -hundred and ten inch storm drain line (a portion of the future project 3-5) from San Bernardino Avenue to Valley Boulevard. On September 16, 1997, a contract was awarded to Aman Environmental Construction, Incorporated to construct the improvements as generally described above and as specified in the MOU. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recently, staff was notified by the consulting Construction Manager (the Arrowhead Management Group) that all of the punch list items specified during the final inspection have been completed and the City should execute the attached notice of completion and release the final retention payment to the contractor thirty-five days thereafter. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact as a result of the execution of the Notice of Completion. The notice of completion merely permits the City to release the final retention payment to the contractor. The project budget was established for these improvements when the contract was awarded in September 1997. Itern # 7
