CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 4,2000
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL: HENRY GARCIA, CITY MANAGEV
FROM: JOHN C. HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTORY/
SUBJECT: GRANT OF SCOPE EASEMENT ON RIVERSIDE AVENUE SOUTH OF AGUA
MANISA ROAD
DATE: MARCH 21, 2000
BACKGROUND: Ague Mansa River farms, LP, a California limited partnership, requests that the
City of Colton grant an easement for slope purposes along the easterly side of Riverside Avenue,
south of Agua Mansa, for maintenance and planting of landscaping of a sloped berm.
DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: The easement being requested would be outside of any roadway or
pedestrian accessibility areas. This would benefit the City by means of the adjacent developer
maintaining a landscaped slope area parallel to their property within the Riverside Avenue right-of-
way.
ALTERNATIVES: In not granting the easement this area of right-of-way would lay barren outside
a common width parkway.
FINANCIAL IMPACT-, None
*2-2
1 _/ le ---
Jo C. Hutton, Public Works Director
ENVIORNMENTAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION: If Council concurs, staff would recommend granting said requested slope
easement with the condition that the adjacent and requesting property owner provide liability
coverage for this easement area, submit plans for approval and hold the City harmless.
Item #9
