Gare <br />rcia, City Manag <br />FROM: Patrick Crv�, Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: The California Law Enforcement Technology Equipment Purchase <br />Program <br />DATE: February 16, 2000 <br />BACKGROUND: The State of California, Office of Criminal Justice Planning, is providing <br />funds for the California Law Enforcement Technology Equipment Purchase (CLETEP) Program. <br />This program would provide funding for police technology equipment. The City of Colton is <br />eligible to receive a total of $65,000, under this award. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Through the CLETEP Program, the police department would be <br />allowed to purchase technology that would assist in the suppression of crime. The CLETEP <br />Program is a competitive award. The City of Colton would be competing with other cities of <br />comparable department size and city population. The CLETEP Program requires no matching <br />funds and may only be used for crime suppression technology. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
