CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For City Council Meeting of March 21, 2000
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manager 0—
FROM: John C. Hutton, Public Works Director
SUBJECT: A Resolution of the City Council of the City Of Colton Amending Resolution
No. 2119 Passed And Adopted By The City Council Of The City Of Colton On The
Sixth Day Of December, 1960 To Include Additional No Parking Areas
DATE: February 23, 2000
BACKGROUND:
Resolution No. 2119 lists areas subject to traffic controls.
Large trucks are parking on a dirt shoulder between the asphalt roadway of Iowa Avenue and the fence line
of the Interstate 215 freeway. This area is a part of Iowa Avenue and was never intended as a parking area.
The parking of trucks is causing site distance problems and trucks exiting this area create merging problems
for the southbound traffic. Posting of signs restricting parking in this area will alleviate these problems
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
It is estimated that to adequately post this area will require 4 or 5 signs at $75.00 per sign for a total of
$375.00. This money will be expended from the street division account # 100-6150-6160-2301.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached Resolution, restricting parking along the west side of
Iowa Avenue.
Page I of 2
Attachments:
Resolution
Item No.
Item #17
