Parrish, Assistant City Manager 1P SUBJECT: Allocation of $85,218 Discussed at the Mid -Year Budget Review to Capital Projects in Councilmanic Districts One through Six DATE: May 9, 2000 BACKGROUND: On February 29, 2000 staff presented the City's midyear budget review to the City Council. At that time the City of Colton had revenues that were in excess of expenditures. Based on that excess, staff presented a list of recommended appropriation increases (projects, equipment upgrades, etc.) to balance the budget. Upon discussing the list with the City Council, revisions were made, one being a request to allocate the remaining amount of $85,218 to capital projects in councilmanic districts one through six. On March 1, 2000 the City Manager distributed a memorandum requesting a list from each Council Member prioritizing capital projects in the six districts where the additional funding could be applied. Each of the Council Members responded with a list of projects. In some cases events developed after the lists were submitted that may have altered the priorities in some of the councilmanic districts. DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: The following are specific requests that were received from each of the Council Members: District 1: Sidewalks at the following locations: Meridian and Visconti, Grand and Laurel, Randall. District 2: Provide funding for a mid -block crosswalk and flashing light on North Rancho, south of Mill. District 3: Pave alleyway behind All Star Auto, City Monument on Fairview Drive, Landscape Improvements, (plant material) on Colton Avenue. District 4: Curb and gutter on West "C" Street between 4'h and Rancho, improve Drain at Congress and Veteran's Park District 5: Sidewalks where missing on the following streets, Reche Canyon, and Hunts. Curbs, Gutters and Sidewalks where missing on the following streets, Washington, Steel, Walin, Center, Reche Canyon Drive and Barton. Item #6
