1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />7' <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />17I18 <br />20 <br />21 <br />Item #1 <br />ORDINANCE NO. o -t n-ni <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 18.46 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING <br />TO EXTENSION PERIODS FOR THE CONTINUATION OF <br />NONCONFORMING STRUCTURES USED FOR RESIDENTIAL <br />PURPOSES <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. General Plan Consistency Findings. The City Council <br />the City of Colton hereby finds and determines: <br />A. Based on the entire record before the City Council and all written and <br />verbal evidence presented, the City Council finds the Text Amendment is consistent with <br />the General Plan of the City of Colton because it provides and encourages the <br />continuation and rehabilitation of housing, including low income housing within the City. <br />Moreover, the Text Amendment helps to promote and achieve the following General Plan <br />policies: <br />1. Housing Element Policy 4.3: The City encourages individual <br />rehabilitation efforts which serve to maintain the existing housing stock in a healthy, safe <br />and aesthetically pleasing condition. <br />2. Housing Element Policy 3.1: The City supports active code <br />enforcement efforts in order to maintain the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of <br />existing housing stock in accordance with the objectives and standards of the General <br />Plan Land Use Element and Chapters 18.46 and 18.56 of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />3. Housing Element Policy 3.2: The City will actively pursue <br />abatement of illegal, non -conforming and blighted properties in accordance with the <br />objectives and standards of the General Plan Land Use Element and Chapters 18.46 and <br />18.56 of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />B.
