Item #14 REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF COLTON For the City Council Meeting of August 21, 2001 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers APPROVAL: Daryl Parrish, City Manager FROM: Robb Steel, Redevelopment Directbe/ SUBJECT: Consideration and Approval of Resolution No. 11-611mending Resolution R-56-01 Establishing the Position of RDA Financial Administrator/Analyst. DATE: August 14, 2001 Background Certain full time positions are being proposed as part of the City-wide reorganization. There is a need for one (1) RDA Financial Administrator/Analyst position in the RDA Department. Attached is a draft of the job description of the classification; the salary range is $3,273 - $3,979 per month as illustrated in the attached Resolution to be submitted to the City Council (Exhibit A). This request has been reviewed by the Assistant City Manager and approved by the City Manager. The valuation for the position was based on a limited job table survey of surrounding cities and has been reviewed and approved by the Assistant City Manager. Discussion The Redevelopment Agency has a budgeted position for a Senior Accountant. This position is currently filled. The incumbent, however, has recently completed law school and has expressed his intention at some point to enter the legal profession. He has expressed a willingness to help transition a replacement at the appropriate time. To prepare for this transition, the Agency seeks to obtain approval for the job specification of the replacement position. The position is being reclassified from the accounting classification to a financial administrator/analyst to reflect the true character of the position. This position would administer the accounting function of the Agency, prepare a variety of financial reports, participate in bond issues, and undertake miscellaneous project management duties. The job description is attached hereto as Exhibit B. Environmental Impact Not applicable.
